What is Probation? Probation is a court order requiring the offender to follow a set of conditions under the supervision of a Probation Officer (PO), over a fixed period of time. It is an opportunity for offenders to make amends and become contributing members of society.
We adopt a "Strengthen Families, Engage Commmunity" framework to enable the probationers to stay crime-free. Volunteer Probation Officers (VPOs) complement the work of POs in the rehabilitation of these offenders.
Who are Volunteer Probation Officers (VPOs)? VPOs are required to set aside a portion of their time to assist Probation Officers in the rehabilitation of young offenders. They come from all walks of life but believe in helping youth offenders become contributing members of society.
A Volunteer Probation Officer's involvement includes befriending, case supervision, organising/conducting activities, programmes and community service projects for probationers and their families.
