  Recognising our Student Alumni Associates

We honour our second batch of 80 Student Alumni Associates (SAA) for their efforts in cultivating alumni relations.

The Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) held an appreciation lunch at the Holiday Inn Park View Hotel on 14 June 2008, in recognition of the SAAs' commitment and contribution. The Student-Alumni Associates Programme was initiated by the AAO last year to recognise our existing students who have played a pivotal role towards the development and cultivation of alumni relations among the student and alumni networks.

The SAA programme is designed to give NTU students an insight into the important role of alumni in contributing towards our vision of becoming a "great global university" with excellent alumni relations.

Guest-of-honour Professor Er Meng Hwa, Senior Associate Provost, and Mr Anthony Teo, Secretary to the University, presented each SAA with a Certificate of Appreciation and souvenir watch.

In his address, Prof Er said: "We thank our Student Alumni Associates for your dedicated commitment and contribution, and we hope that through this platform, you will stay connected and develop strong ties with the University through your continual involvement in alumni-related activities."

"As a Student-Alumni Associate, you play a very important role. You are our bridge between the student population and the alumni of NTU, promoting strong ties and relationship. By helping to foster pride and tradition, promoting and inspiring unity, you will help alumni keep alive the friendships, associations and interests they formed as students in NTU. At the same time, you will also benefit from an extensive network of alumni worldwide," he added.

The newly appointed SAAs also took the occasion to celebrate an even more special day for Prof Er, his 23rd anniversary with NTU.
