The world's leading hospitality management school has joined with one of the elite business schools in Asia to offer a joint degree, the Master of Management in Hospitality (M.M.H.) awarded by Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and Nanyang Technological University's Nanyang Business School. Applications deadline for this program has been announced.
Beginning in May 2006, students can earn an advanced degree, equivalent to an M.B.A., which has been designed specifically for the global industry with a focus on developing a wealth of expertise in Asian hospitality. The twelve-month M.M.H. degree program at the Cornell-Nanyang Institute of Hospitality Management (CNI) is a truly international experience, with six months of study in each of Singapore and Ithaca, New York.
With Cornell's expertise in international hospitality and NBS' Asian business perspective, CNI will introduce global best practices and knowledge customized for Asia's needs.
The institute is thus poised to become Asia's premier source of hospitality education and research.
Said Cornell Hotel School Professor Judy Siguaw, named founding dean of CNI, "CNI represents an exciting opportunity to leverage the brand names of two prestigious institutions, while creating a renowned hospitality program for students seeking expertise in Asian markets."
A noted scholar in sales and marketing, Siguaw joined Cornell Hotel School faculty in 1997. She is the J. Thomas Clark Professor of Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise, and had been teaching in the Hotel School's Marketing, Information Systems, Strategy & Tourism department.
