NTU launches two more alumni associations and expands its overseas chapters across China.
Two separate cities, one common mission. The University launched its NTU Alumni Association in Chongqing and Hubei on 1 and 2 November, respectively. These added up to eight in the total number of alumni associations the University has in China. Six others have been set up in Beijing, Shandong, Shanghai, Jilin, Liaoning, and Guangdong.
Of the new additions, Dr Su Guaning, NTU President, said that our alumni in China had reached the 10,000th mark. He stressed that the overseas chapters set up across major Chinese cities will provide a continuing nexus, where alumni based in China can meet for an exchange, as well as strengthen ties with their alma mater.
Casting a wider net will also enable NTU to touch base with its overseas alumni for active engagement, while nurturing more networking and business opportunities. The newly launched alumni association in Chongqing and Hubei will cater to a 500-strong community.
Through alumni engagement, NTU plays a leading role in building bridges not only to China, but worldwide. To date, the Chongqing and Hubei launch has added up to a total of 13 NTU Alumni Associations in China, Indonesia, India, Thailand, the UK and Vietnam.
