If you are writing a resume, preparing for an interview, or just simply exploring a career field, then you shouldn't miss this. These resources provide a link to employers through a collection of updated company profiles and recruitment brochures. Several employers' CDs are available upon request at CareerHub counter.    NTU graduates' employment and career-related information

CareerHub also has a collection of recent survey findings on NTU graduates such as salary information, job designations and names of employers. Take a look at how and what your seniors are doing and explore the career options available to you.

    Career-related software & assessment tools

You can try out the following interactive software or self-help kits to help you explore your career interests and options.

  CareerBuilder+


CareerBuilder+ is the first step to discover your interests, skills and values. It consolidates key useful career information through analysis of education, work history, skills, interests, values, goals and personal circumstances. Your strengths and preferences are automatically linked to possible career options. An easy-to-use computer assisted career exploration programme developed by Australian-based Career Solutions, CareerBuilder+ brings you to think through your career preferences through getting you to answer a series of questions. At the end of the assessment, the programme will generate an easy-to-read report detailing the results of your self-understanding and career exploration. The entire exercise could take around 30-40 minutes. You can try out CareerBuilder+ using the PC located at the CareerHub (Admin Annex Level 4).

 

    Action Planner

Action Planner is a software used in association with CareerBuilder+. After discovering your interests and the needs for action to attain you career dreams, you can make use of Action Planner to facilitate your planning for action steps and monitor your progress. This is a useful tool to keep you in check of how you are progressing towards your career goals.

 

    Winwork

Winwork is any first-time job seeker's dream companion. It is a computer-assisted programme that allows you to write your resumes and cover letters from scratch. You can create an infinite number of letters and resumes using the step-by-step guide, and edit them using any word processing software. Winwork is a definite help for those who starting their first try at self-marketing.

 

    O*Net Career Inventory

    

The O*Net Career Interests Inventory is a quick tool to gauge your career interests (according to Holland's theory). It helps you to explore career options based on your interests. Based on whether you indicate you like or dislike various activities, you will identify career areas that match your interests and pinpoint specific jobs to explore.

The O*Net Career Values Inventory helps you to explore career options based on your work values. Based on which values you indicate as important to you, you will identify career groups that tend to include these values and to pinpoint specific jobs you can explore.

Both inventories are available for sale at CareerHub at S$3.50 each. Kick start your career exploration with these inventories on your own or seek assistance from a career coach at CareerHub

 

    Career-Guide

A career guide entitled "Get Ready for Work" was developed specially for all NTU undergraduates. The guide will help you to understand career management while studying in the university.
