Resume & Cover Letter Writing
In a very keen job-hunting environment, having a good resume and cover letter is the first step to land the coveted job.  For most, a resume is a display of all the skills and talents, whether or not the information is relevant to the reader.  This method of writing a resume is passe.  In the 21st century, jobseekers are faced with the challenge of more applicants than jobs available in the market.  As such, a targeted resume and cover letter that the hiring manager wants to see is the bare essential to land the interview for the job that one desires.

Take-Away : A FREE Resume Review for all participants within 2 weeks of the workshop.

Recommended Group :  Pre-final (before attachment) and final year students.

Interview Skills
Having a well-targeted resume and cover letter, one stands a better chance of being invited for an interview for the coveted job that one desires.  Once invited for an interview, one has to start the preparation for the interview, formulating one's strategy, scripting one's answers, and practising one's replies.  Being invited to a job interview is difficult.  A job applicant must maximise the opportunity.

Take-Away : A mock interview in the second half of the workshop, allowing participants to answer an interview question, and be given comments on the answers, together with observing the other participants and their comments from the facilitator.

Recommended Group :  Pre-final (before attachment) and final year students

Career Management
In looking at one's career, landing a coveted job is is only the short-term goal.  To have continuing success in one's career, and to remain satisfied, managing of one's career is essential.

Take-Away : A FREE 30 mins career counselling session within two months of the workshop with the career coach (consultant) on how to better plan and manage your career.

Recommended Group : Year 1 students onwards, so as to have more time to enhance your career readiness.

Job Hunting (Networking)
As there are more applicants than jobs available in the market, learning new job-hunting skills is useful.  In a world where everything is interconnected, networking is important.  Research has found that  only 20% of jobs are known via the usual avenues such as newspapers advertisements, internet search firms, head-hunters and job fairs.  The other 80% of jobs are known via networking.  For job-hunters, this is an avenue that cannot be ignored.  For most, networking is a skill that has to be learnt.

Recommended Group : Year 1 students onwards, as networking takes time and effort.

Assessment Centres
As organisations continue to look for candidates more objectively, many deploy the use of assessment centres in the selection process.  Though there are no fixed exercies for an assessment centre, there are some common ones that students can be exposed to for better understanding of the selection criteria and to better prepare for them.

Take-Away : Each student will be randomly selected to be engaged in one of the exercises of the assessment centre.

Recommended Group : Final year students who are interested in a career in consulting, management associate programs, banking & finance.
