Real-Time Bus Arrival Information
 
Want to find out when the next bus is arriving at your bus stop? The newly launched Bus Arrival Information on SMS allows you to check bus arrival times on real-time basis, for both SBS Transit and SMRT bus services.

This real-time service was launched by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) on 17 October 2008. It is currently only available at selected bus-stops along the academic belt from Clementi MRT Station to Bukit Batok MRT Station via Ngee Ann Polytechnic, as well as from Buona Vista MRT Station to Nanyang Technological University, from 4am-1am daily.

There are 2 SMS services provided:
 
(1) Next bus arrival time of all bus services at a specific bus stop
1. Key in the 5-digit bus stop code
2. Send the SMS to 77722
3. Wait for the reply

Example: Requesting for bus arrival time of all bus services at bus stop 21689.
 
SMS Request (sent to 77722)                        SMS Reply
 
(2) Next and subsequent bus arrival time of a specific bus service (up to 3 bus services) at a specific bus stop
1. Key in the 5-digit bus stop code and the service number as <Bus Stop code> space <Service Number>
2. Send the SMS to 77722
3. Wait for the reply

Example: Requesting for bus arrival time of 3 bus services (30, 154 and 180) at bus stop 21689.

This service is free during the 6-month trial period from October 2008 to March 2009. It is available to M1, Singtel and Starhub's postpaid and prepaid mobile subscribers, standard telco charges apply to each SMS request sent.

At the same time, the LTA also launched a one-stop online public transport portal. It provides round-the-clock integrated public transport information at a click, and aims to enhance commuters' travel experience and help them plan their journeys better.
 
The portal includes interactive maps for bus routes, bus stops & interchanges, MRT & LRT stations, "Park & Ride" carparks, as well as information on bus fares, taxi services, public transport guides, etc.
