Visitors to NTU campus with mobile phone can now enjoy free, campus-wide seamless wireless broadband access with speed of up to 54Mbps.
To connect to the NTUwireless broadband network, a visitor needs a WiFi-enabled device, such as a laptop computer or a PDA, a web browser, and a mobile phone with service subscription to the Singapore telecommunication providers (SingTel, StarHub or M1). Visitors with mobile service subscription to foreign telecommunication providers may need to purchase pre-paid SIM card from the local retailer.
To register for the free wireless access day account, simply SMS the keyword 'register' to the phone number 98635582. The visitor will receive via SMS the account username in the format ASSOC\<your mobile number> and a password for access to the NTUwireless network.
The visitor is then able to roam within any of NTU Wireless coverage areas such as the canteens, academic complexes, lecture theatres, tutorial/seminar rooms etc. For Halls of Residence and Staff Quarters, wireless coverage is confined to reading rooms and canteens.
The account and password will expire at 12.30am the following day. Visitor has to apply via SMS again for a new account if necessary.
