Hey freshies! Do you get lost in this campus often? Want to impress your friends with your navigation skills? Then check out the nifty information on our online campus map. Mastering the features available in the online map could turn you into a navigation champ and save you much time fumbling through wrong passways.
Where can I find the online campus map?It can be accessed from the NTU homepage http://www.ntu.edu.sg/. Click on the " Quick Link" drop-down box at the top right corner. You will find " Campus Map" as one of the menu options. Select it and the online campus map ( http://www.street-directory.com/ntu) will be displayed.
How to find my way to NTU? Scroll down to the bottom of the online campus map. If you are taking public transport, click on the hyperlink "How to get to NTU". You will find detailed information on MRT and bus services to the campus. You can even find out which bus stops to alight to get to some of the popular locations.
If you are driving, the above link also provides useful information on where to exit from the expressway and the nearest carparks to some of the major places of interests. You may also use "Route to NTU". By providing the postal code or street name of your starting point anywhere in Singapore, it will display a suggested route to NTU. The suggested route may not be the shortest or fastest but does serve as an initial guide to those who have never been to this part of the island.
How to locate a school, lecture theatre, tutorial room or canteen? At the bottom of the online campus map webpage, you can find the following search drop-down lists:
- Schools & Offices
- General Facilities
(this includes Food & Beverages Outlets, Bank & ATMs, Retail Outlets, Childcare Centre, Carparks, Sports, Landmarks and Others)
- Lecture Theatres, Libraries & Exam Halls
- Buildings (Institutional & Residential)
(this includes Academic & Admin, Halls of Residence, Staff Housing and Others)
- Seminal & Tutorial Rooms
 Look under the appropriate drop-down list for the location you wish to find and click on the " Go" button.
The search result will be displayed on a new webpage with the searched location highlighted by an animated star icon. If detailed floor plan of the searched location is available, you may click on the "Floor Plan" hyperlink displayed on top. You may click on "Legend" to check out the different symbols or colours used in the map. Confused by the address formats and naming convention of the academic complexes? Then click on "Getting around academic complexes" to familiarise yourself.
How to zoom or move around the map? You can move around in 8 directions by clicking on arrow heads on the 4 edges and 4 corners of the displayed map. You may also left click anywhere in the map to centralise the map at that location.
You can display the map in 3 different zoom levels by either selecting the zoom level directly or using the zoom-in or zoom-out tools available at the top of the map.
Can I search for a location if I know the name or address of the place? Yes. You just need to type in the name and/or address of the location in the appropriate fields under the Search NTU Locations section, and click on the "Go" button.
How to get a hard copy of the map? After getting the correct location displayed, you may like to print a copy for reference. Simply click on the "Print this map" hyperlink. You will be prompted to select a printer as per normal. "Print the entire Campus Map" allows you to print the entire campus map in four A4-size pages.
How to inform others of the location of, for example, my hall of residence?First, search for the location. Then click on " Email this map". You will be prompted to provide the recipient's and your email addresses. You can edit the message content to be sent together with the location URL.
Alternatively, you can also copy and paste the URL of the search result page from the browser onto any electronic document or email content. This feature is especially useful to organisers of events who need to give directions to participants in publicity media.
What are the amenities available in the campus? The link "Retail shops & amenities" gives you a general guide on amenities available in campus, such as accommodation, healthcare, recreation and retail outlets. Another link "Nearby amenities" allows you to find out the nearest canteens, bus-stops or carparks from a particular location in campus.
How to find out how near or far apart are two locations in the campus? Click on the hyperlink "Route within NTU". You will be prompted to provide the two locations. The map will display the locations indicated by two different coloured animated stars. This will give you some idea of how near or far apart are the two locations in campus.
The map is 2-D, any way to recognise a place better? The "Virtual Tour" option at the top of the map takes you to 360-degree virtual tours of more than 30 landmark buildings and locations in the campus.
At zoom levels 2 and 3, locations where virtual tours are available are also marked with the virtual tour icon  . You may click on the icon to view the virtual tour of that place directly.
Beyond NTU Campus The "Island Map" option at the top of the map enables you to explore beyond the campus. For example, you may search here for the nearest markets, restaurants or petrol stations in the neighbourhood.
The online campus map is maintained by OFPM (Office of Facilities Planning and Management) and CITS (Centre for IT Services). The map and its databases are regularly updated and enhanced as our huge campus upgrades and grows.
